The Zemanta plugin calls the Daylife Search APIs to find Getty Images related to the text of the blog posts that a blogger is writing. The images from Daylife provide a great pool of relevant content for the blog posts.

Snaptalent has used Daylife’s API platform to build a more complete job ad for a new type of online recruiting. The unique format of Snaptalent’s job ads stems from our effort to provide each candidate as much information about the company as possible. Rather than the traditional job-board format, our ad widgets allow companies to include videos, a photo gallery, text descriptions, and now with the help of DayPI, quotes and news stories about our advertisers from all over the Internet.

Like any good tool, the DayPI does precisely what it is supposed to do and then gets out of the way. We began integration by writing a small module to fetch data from Daylife. This we coupled with a small Django template to format the information in a pleasing and useful way. We soon discovered that some of the companies advertising with us were so young as to not yet have any press coverage; not a problem at all, as we simply consult the DayPI periodically on behalf of these companies and add new stories and quotes as they appear.
